Data Protection Policy
EDSO for Smart Grids is a non-profit Brussels-based Association gathering the leading European distribution system operators (DSOs) for electricity, cooperating to ensure the reliability of Europe’s electricity supply for consumers and enabling their active participation in our energy system.
EDSO is committed to comply with the standards for data privacy introduced on 25 May 2018 by the new European data protection law called ‘General Data Protection Regulation’ (GDPR)
Personal Data Collected by EDSO
EDSO gathers in its database personal data of association members as well as of representatives from other stakeholders or external parties directly or indirectly linked to the association specific activities.
Information is collected via individual contacts or available public information. We also keep for our records data regarding individual participation in EDSO events or in events EDSO has been/is involved in.
Personal data we collect is identifying information (surname, first name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone numbers, either mobile or fixed lines) and information related to the organisation a contact person works with (position/job title, organisation name, activity sector).
Stored data related to purveyors do include VAT account numbers, while where not specified in their invoices data necessary to perform payment may be collected. No sensitive data (such as bank account details) are otherwise asked or stored.
Purpose of EDSO personal data collection
EDSO collects data with the aim of informing about events, publications and other information related to the association business that may be of interest. As a non-profit organisation, we have no commercial purposes.
E.DSO reserves the right to take pictures and films during its external events. The resulting material may appear, without formal request, in publications, on the internet or in other printed or electronic materials related to the role and function of E.DSO.
EDSO Privacy safeguard
EDSO has put the necessary physical, technological and managerial procedures in place to safeguard the integrity of its database, which is stored on servers located in Belgium.
Information and data rectification
At any time the right of modification, correction and removal of data stored in our database is guaranteed.
