Who are we?

E.DSO is the European Association of leading electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in Europe. It is a non-profit association with over 35 European members looking for an experienced Policy Officer for its Brussels office to support and drive its strategy.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen on:

  • Joining us in our mission to help manage our network of members, working to accelerate the energy transition towards zero-emissions.
  • Contributing to shaping European distribution grids policies and regulations.
  • Improving the association’s visibility, especially within the European Institutions.

As an integral part of E.DSO’s secretariat, you will contribute to the association’s strategy and to policies and regulations related to distribution grid networks, while developing trusted relationships with institutions, key stakeholders, partners, and members.

Your responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Deputy Secretary General, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Actively tracking, monitoring, and analysing relevant legislation and policy proposals on energy and climate policies; drafting briefing notes, newsletters and conducting desk research where necessary.
  • Coordinating and managing the work and objectives of our internal working groups and task forces including gathering and helping formulate member input for our advocacy work.
  • Formulating policy and non-policy proposals to influence key European and national policymakers on E.DSO priorities, with the aim of making significant positive impact on the pace and ambition of regulation related to DSOs.
  • Continuously engaging and coordinating with our members on E.DSO priorities to ensure continued added value and professionalism of E.DSO association and membership and to support members in influencing their national governments where needed.
  • Improving the visibility of our association by representing E.DSO in relevant external events.
  • Contributing to the association and hosting of E.DSO policy events (webinars or in-person).
  • Supporting the work on E.DSO major events.
  • Other day-to-day activities that might arise.

The successful candidate should bring:

  • A passion for electrification and distribution grids development.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in European policy, ideally in the area of energy or environment, and with international exposure.
  • Demonstrated understanding of grids/energy/charging infrastructure, and sustainability (raw materials, net-zero industry… etc) topics.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) – knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude, taking the lead across all assigned aspects of our policy work.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills – ideally previous experience working in a membership-based organisation.
  • An interest in communication, especially in social media outreach and designing of communication material, is considered an asset.

If you check the above boxes, consider yourself an innovative individual, a team player and want to become part of a young dynamic team in a fast-growing industry, we encourage you to apply!
