PRESS RELEASE: EDSO and ENCS host Smart Grid Cyber Security event
Making the tools of the energy transition safe for citizens and secure for providers. The tools are the data generated and needed by the smart grid system that will allow for the real evolution of electric services at the advantage of customers. This was at the core of the discussions today in a high level technical workshop organised in Brussels by the European Distribution System Operators' Association for Smart Grids (EDSO) and the European Network for Cyber Security (ENCS), the Den Haag based leading technology center for the deployment of secure European critical energy grids and infrastructure. Around 100 participants explored the growing challenges of smart grids cyber security and the increased responsibilities placed on electricity distribution system operators (DSOs).
Trilogues: Overregulation may cripple new EU electricity distributors’ entity
EDSO chairman Christian Buchel argues on POLITICO that Europe’s fast-changing energy markets demand ‘agile and efficient’ electricity regulation and that co-legislators should not cripple the new EU DSO Entity with an initial over-regulation.
EDSO jointly with Eurelectric and GEODE publishes a side letter on EU-DSO entity
The recast of the Electricity Regulation will establish a new EU institution, called “EU DSO Entity”, to foster cooperation between Distribution System Operators (DSOs) who are taking centre stage in the energy transition. EDSO publishes jointly with Eurelectric and GEODE a joint side letter on this EU-DSO entity.
‘Equal by 30 Campaign’ advocates for gender equality in the clean energy sector
EDSO supports the ‘Equal by 30 Campaign’ which promotes gender equality in the clean energy sector, with several of its members being signatories to this initiative. ‘Equal by 30’ encourages public and private sector organisations to work towards equal pay, equal leadership and equal opportunities for women in the clean energy sector by 2030.
ENCS and EDSO step up partnership to face emerging cybersecurity evolution and challenges in European smart grids
European system operators should be world leaders in smart grid revolution, says EDSO Chairman Christian Buchel at Innogrid2020+ conference
Brussels, 15 May 2018. In his opening speech at Innogrid2020+, EDSO Chairman Christian Buchel called for European system operators to deepen and accelerate their common work to become the world leaders in the smart grid revolution.
ENTSO-E and EDSO for Smart Grids launch the ‘Power Networks Europe Award’
The first laureates Dr Chavdar Ivanov and the company Sunchain, respectively nominated by ENTSO-E and EDSO, have been rewarded for their contribution to building Europe’s future power network. The handover took place during the second day of INNOGRID2020+.
Get ready for the Twenties: 10 innovation actions for a future-proof power system
Brussels, 15 May 2018 - At this year’s INNOGRID2020+ conference, co-organisers EDSO for Smart Grids and ENTSO-E will jointly present their ‘Ten priorities for Europe’s research policy to deliver the Energy Union’ and hand them over to the Commission.
