E.DSO has submitted its assessment of the European Commission’s proposals for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). The paper underlines the central role of electricity distribution networks in delivering Europe’s competitiveness, energy security and clean transition objectives.
It welcomes the European Commission’s ambition and sets out concrete ways to ensure that the next EU budget provides targeted and coherent support for grid investment. In particular, it highlights the importance of maintaining the proposed increase of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) budget, securing dedicated funding for distribution grids under the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) and the National and Regional Partnership Plans (NRPPs), and ensuring strong alignment across all EU instruments from innovation to deployment.
