On 29 July in Brussels, E.DSO convened over 30 experts from DSOs, CPOs, and EU stakeholders to discuss how Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) can accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure in grid-congested areas.
The roundtable highlighted how battery collocation can strengthen the grid during peak demand, boost renewable integration, and unlock regulatory and technical solutions. Real-world pilots from ESB Networks and E.ON demonstrated the potential of BESS, while Atlante and Electra shared valuable insights from the CPO perspective.
