Fluvius aims to implement a voltage indicator for every connection in the LV network for effective network management. As voltage data is not yet available everywhere, due to the ongoing smart meter rollout, Fluvius is using a machine learning algorithm that looks for similar connections across the entire Flemish input dataset. Based on matching features for the non-measured and measured connections, this predicts a maximum and minimum voltage value for every connection, which is used by Fluvius to create a Client Voltage Indicator (CVI). This CVI helps in monitoring and optimising the LV network until every smart meter is activated and can provide “real” voltage data.
