VR Training System

Increasing the competence of technical service employees while safeguarding safety concerns is a critical challenge for DSOs. The Polish DSO Enea Operator, in collaboration with the Poznań University of Economics and University of Technology, has developed an innovative system that leverages virtual reality (VR) technology to train employees in different scenarios that combine free movement around power stations, exercises, and exams.

Among the key benefits offered by the system are the possibility to preliminarily assess the skill level of the participants to select the most appropriate training scenario, to replay scenario recordings to identify critical steps that necessitate additional instructor support and to visit power stations in exploration mode to get acquainted with their equipment. In addition, the creation of a mobile training station allows delivery of training in every energy post of Enea Operator and reaching technical schools and energy and educational fairs. The VR training system has received excellent response from Enea Operator employees and management and was awarded several national prizes for innovation in the field of education.
