The Association of European Distribution System Operators (E.DSO) hosted its second FutureGrid Innovation Summit in Brussels on 11 February 2026.
Electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) play a central role in driving and implementing innovation in the energy sector. E.DSO FutureGrid Innovation Summit provided a valuable platform on the latest advancements in the energy transition, driving progress toward the 2030 climate goals and beyond. The timing of the Summit was especially significant, aligning with a pivotal moment in the evolving policy landscape, marked by the release of the European Grids Package on 10 December 2025.
The event brought together around 250 participants, including representatives from the energy industry, companies, associations, EU institutions, regulators, Member States, NGOs, and EU-funded projects.
EU-funded initiatives where E.DSO plays an active role, including BeFlexible, COPPER, EU-TRACE, Flow, INSIEME, SG-Skill and TwinEU, were featured, presenting both immediate and long-term solutions to accelerate the energy transition and support Europe’s innovative energy revolution.
The Summit also celebrated innovation through the 3rd E.DSO Digital and Innovation Award, with live voting by participants. The award went to Alesea, a start-up recognised for its revolutionary and impactful digital solutions. Other finalists that participated in the competition were: Dcbel, Enline, Orbik and Repath.
The event was organised with the sponsorship of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), LCP Delta, Plexigrid, and in partnership with EnergyVille.
