E.DSO, together with Bundesverband der Energie -und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW), Polish Electricity Association (PKEE), Synergrid and Union of the French Electricity (UFE), has released a joint statement calling on EU co-legislators to ensure that the Permitting Directive delivers a framework that enables faster permitting procedures while protecting system security, stability and reliability.
The signatories stress the importance of maintaining technical verification for grid connection requests, preserving grid visibility for small-scale installations, and ensuring that simplification measures do not compromise system integrity.
The joint statement calls for a permitting framework that strengthens technical credibility, preserves national regulatory responsibilities, protects consumers, maintains system security, and supports Europe’s long-term decarbonisation and energy security objectives.
